Not Your Grandmaโ€™s started because compression helped meโ€ฆ but the socks themselves were a nightmare. Beige. Itchy. Tight in all the wrong ways. So I made the ones I needed.

When I first got sick, compression was the only thing that helped.

It wasnโ€™t glamorous. It was justโ€ฆ practical.

Compression made my legs feel more supported. It helped me get through the day when my body wasnโ€™t playing nice.

But actually wearing compression socks?

That part was torture. Beige. Tight. Itchy. The kind of socks that make you feel like a patient, not a person.ย

And I remember thinking:

If these are โ€œthe helpful thingโ€โ€ฆ why do they feel like punishment?

Compression has amazing benefits. But only if you can actually wear it

Most compression socks are made by people who donโ€™t wear them. And you can tell.ย

Theyโ€™re stiff. They dig in. Theyโ€™re hard to get on when youโ€™re exhausted. And the designs make you feel like you should apologise for needing support.

NYG is my answer to that.

Soft, sensory-friendly compression socks that do their job.

And look like you.

Breaking up with beige

I broke up with beige and built something better.ย

I wanted socks Iโ€™d actually choose to wear.

So I designed compression socks that are:

  • Soft enough for flare days (no scratchy seams, no stiff cuffs)ย
  • Easy to pull on (because wrestling your socks is not self-care)ย
  • Supportive in a real-life way (15โ€“20 mmHg graduated compression for everyday relief)ย
  • Fun, colourful, and cute (because joy matters too)ย

Basically: all the benefits of compression, without the boring, clinical vibe.

NYG is for anyone who feels it in their legs.

If youโ€™re

  • Managing chronic illness
  • Working long shifts
  • Travelling and swelling up on planes
  • Pregnant or postpartum
  • Sitting for hours
  • Or just tired of tired legs

Youโ€™re exactly who I made these for.ย

You donโ€™t need a diagnosis to deserve relief.

You just need legs. And a life.

NYG is rated 4.7 from over 20,000 orders on-site.

I didnโ€™t start NYG to sell socks.

I started it because people deserve support that doesnโ€™t make them feel worse.

Support that doesnโ€™t itch. Support that doesnโ€™t look clinical. Support that doesnโ€™t ask you to shrink yourself down.

If compression helps you, you should be able to wear it in a way that feels like you.

Thatโ€™s the whole thing. Thatโ€™s Not Your Grandmaโ€™s.
